2009 Formula 1 – First look at BMW Sauber 2009 F1 car concept

(Updated, more pictures added including Honda 2009 wing)
The winter testing for 2009 Formula One season begins in Barcelona today. The are is some added excitement about the testing this winter as all the teams will have to come up with brand new cars for next season, very different from the 2008 Formula 1 machinery. So far all we have had were speculations, more speculations, and few photos of Williams wings. Today BMW Sauber put their new wings to test (and public display) – large, wide and low front wing, small, narrow and high rear wing. That “Credit Suisse” painted part of the front wing seems to the movable one. All the winglets, horns and mini fins are gone. They still however run the car with grooved tyres, but those will not be used in Formula 1 from 2009 season.

OMG!!! The dog has eaten the rear wing!
The front wing is “lawnmower-style” Haha!

They seem to have recovered the walrus front wing from Williams F1 back in 2004, but the car seems to me pretty much to the old square shaped Jordan’s and Minardi’s with tall nose cone.

Later in this day, during the 1st half of the testing day, several teams went on slicks and groved tyres at the same time. BMW Sauber run with slicks a great part of time with them, Kubica on slicks – Klien seemed tu run groved ones. Anyway, this is could be a visial effect of some flat spot in the some tyre, but I would say so.
What about Honda’s vertsion, did anybody see that???
Don’t miss it!!! Look later in my photo gallery in the F1Wolf Club!!!

Yeah!! I’m just back of watching arround some F1
I’ve seen it in live, the car looks completely new shaped, but still Kubica sitting inside
It looks fast, comparing speeds with others the new BMW prototype is in good shape and during tests Kubica was catching a car or two per lap.
Today I’ll post some pictures in the F1Wolf Club exclusively for F1Wolf!!! Enjoy!!

I wasn’t there alone, but there were really few people which left a work day for visit the circuit. Anyway, there’re always clients of partnerships with the F1 teams (thus lucky ones).

It really is quite hideous. I’m going to be interested to see what Ferrari and McLaren come up with; they usually produce pretty cars, and although secondary to speed, there is some hope there. Although another usually pretty car, the Williams, looked pretty awful when photos were released over the weekend.

“For me it’s the worst looking F1 car I’ve ever seen. It just doesn’t look like it fits, with big wings and everything. But we will get used to it and a lot of things will change.
“It drives quite nice actually. The laptimes were quite good already, slick tyres compensate quite a lot with the downforce. Low speed corners give a lot of grip, high speed corners are now a bit more tricky. The main problem was the cold temperatures in the morning but in the afternoon it got much better.”
