Formula 1 - 2002 Liveries
Time for another part of F1liveries series - Season 2002 - the season that started with big bang. The season that should have had 12 teams on the grid after Toyota’s entry into F1. But Prost team disapeared just before the season start and the grid was back to 11 teams. Only 10 teams went on to finish the season - Arrows’ last race was Germany… So similar to 2008 … We should have had 12 teams this year (with Prodrive), but now we only have 10 (Super Aguri gone).
This was also the season when Renault completed their takeover of Benneton and Honda left Jordan to fully focus on BAR Honda project … Here is the look back at the 2002 Formula 1 liveries.

Ferrari

Williams / BMW

McLaren / Mercedes

Renault

Sauber / Petronas

Jordan / Honda

Jaguar / Cosworth

BAR / Honda

Minardi / Asiatech

I miss seeing yellow, green and orange cars on the grid, and I miss the days when there was more teams a well. I think something should be done to promote more teams being able and interested in racing formal 1. I would love to see 3 more teams in there. I think its a shame to have lost Lotus, Jaguar, Super Aguri etc. It would not have minded seing Alfa Romeo back either as it would create more battles to follow.

yeah the jaguar green would have been a beautiful evolution if it stayed in formula1 until now.

I think each team should be allowed one main livery color, not matching that of any other team and then the car would have to be 50-60% in that color. Let them choose in order of Championship standings. The cars look far too similar these days - also, the var number should be mandatory on the nose and rear wing sides.

CAR number, not var number, of course.
