My Silverstone photos – Part 1 – Paddock Club and Pitlane

I was lucky enough to spend Friday and Saturday of the British GP in the Paddock Club and enjoy all the perks that come with the pass. Here are some of the pictures I took in the Paddock Club and during the pitlane walkabouts. Click on the thumbnails to see the full size pictures:

2009 British GP – My Sunday at Silverstone

The last day at the track was purely about the Grand Prix. The morning trip from Northampton was very smooth and we arrived at the track in no time. This was perhaps the biggest crowd of this season but you would not notice it at the gates. No delays, everything smooth.
It looked like nice and [...]

Sebastian Vettel won the 2009 British GP after leading it from start to finish (except 2 laps following his second pit stop). Mark Webber finished second ahead or Rubens Barrichello.

2009 British GP – My Saturday at Silverstone

My day started with the early morning pitlane walk. If anybody gets the chance to do the pitlane walkabout, make sure you don’t miss the one on Saturday morning. It requires rather early wake up but it is well worth it. Not too many people and lots of time to wander around the pitlane.
Although I [...]

2009 British GP – My Friday at Silverstone

It was fun day today. Nice weather although rather cold and windy. The warm jacket definitely came handy. I planned to watch the practice sessions from my seat at the grandstands but at the end I made the most of the Paddock Club pass. Pitlane walkabout, Mumm champagne, F1 simulator, good picture taking spot [...]

Donington Park gets the permit, will they also get the money ? Ron Dennis is not convinced

As expected North West Leicestershire District Council approved plans for a £100 million track revamp. The Donington Park boss Simon Gillet is confident his venue will host the 2010 British Grands Prix.
But will they also be able to come up with all the money required to complete the project on time ?

2008 Driver Helmets – Jenson Button Silverstone Special

You may have realized that Jenson Button used a different helmet at Silverstone during the 2008 British GP. He used special helmet designs for his home Grand Prix before but this time he had fans to design it for him on his website.
Here is the winning design by Aries Janssens:
