Wolf is taking a break

After almost 4 years the wolf is tired and needs a break. The motivation is no longer there. With that also is gone the willingness to voluntarily sacrifice all the time needed to keep the site going. Even that bare minimum of time the wolf devoted to the site in 2010 … So, after a […]

Barcelona test March 2009 – Day 2 – with images

The Barcelona test continued with day 2. The fastest driver of the day was Kimi Raikkonen putting Ferrari at the top of the time sheets for a change. Kazuki Nakajima managed a quick lap placing Williams 2nd for the day. Brawn GP continues to impress with their pace – 3rd fastest time for Rubens Barrichello on his first outing in the new Brawn GP car. What is it with McLaren though – problems or not showing the others what they have up their sleevs ?

Barcelona test March 2009 – Day 1

Bourdais took STR4 to the track for the first time

Bourdais took STR4 to the track for the first time

Interesting day in Barcelona yesterday. Toro Rosso introduced their new car, STR4, a car made in Faenza that “is not a rebadged RB5″. Jenson Button and Brawn GP raised some eyebrows by spending most of the day at the top of the time sheets. At the end the honour of being the fastest driver of the day went to Nick Heidfeld for his 1:20.338 lap. Raikkonen’s Ferrarri and Trulli’s Toyota were about 6 tenths behind. This may suggest that Heidfeld (same as Vettel last week in Jerez) did a low fuel qualifying run. Only 2 tenths further back was Jenson Button.

2009 Formula 1 cars – Toro Rosso reveals STR4 – Spot the difference

Scuderia Toro Rosso STR4

Scuderia Toro Rosso STR4

Scuderia Toro Rosso revealed today their 2009 challeneger – STR4. The car was built (same as Red Bull’s RB5) by Red Bull Technology. And while Toro Rosso’s technical director Giorgio Ascanelli insists the new STR4 is not a rebadged Red Bull Racing RB5 it would be quite difficult to spot too many differences other than those directly related to different engine and then of course the livery. If you spot any, please list them out in the comments ! The STR4 should be the last Toro Rosso car built by Red Bull. From 2010 Toro Rosso should built their own car to comply with the regulations that do not allow teams running customer cars.
