Toro Rosso have confirmed Sebastian Vettel as one their race drivers for next season. He will need to remove the Credit Suisse logo from his helmet then …It will be interesting to see what happens with the second Toro Rosso seat. Will Liuzzi remain or will the team opt for brand new line up and give Sebastien Bourdias the drive ?
Unlike the letter from Ron Dennis, this one seems to be rational and talking some sense. On the other hand, unlike Ron Dennis, Mr. Macaluso has nothing to loose … The full text Macaluso’s letter follows:
No, this is not in connection with the Stepneygate, this is Kimi with his friends dressed in gorilla suit. They were having fun back in Finland participating in a motorboat race. Must have been hot, that beer he is holding sure helped. More photos in the article.
And now it starts to get really dirty. Dennis could not keep his mouth shut after reading the Macaluso Mosley letter exchange and Ferrari appeal hearing looming. I think he should have kept his mouth shut or be a bit more careful in what he said …
Following the letter from Luigi Macaluso, the head of the Italian national sporting authority CSAI, to Max Mosley, Ferrari has been given the right to appeal to the FIA International Court of Appeal. Due to the rules they could not appeal themselves, so it looks like they used a Ferrari friend to help. Macaluso had been allegedly in favour of Ferrari at the World Council but was later revealed as having voted for no punishment for McLaren. He however believes, Ferrari has a right to appeal.
Before we head for 3 weeks summer break we still have a goulash party to attend in Hungary.
Formula 1 arrived to Hungary in 1986 as a first and only race held behind the former Iron Curtain. This year will be 22nd Fomula 1 race in Hungary and amazingly I have never heard this usually processional race to be under any danger from Bernie …
The track sits on the top of the countryside just outside of Budapest. Combine this with the middle of the summer in Central Europe and you get one hot and dusty race on otherwise not very used track. There has never been a wet race here until 2006…
As expected, Scott Speed’s career in Toro Rosso is over. Sebastian Vettel will take over from Hungarian GP for the rest of the season, after BMW released him. Timo Glock will take over Vettel’s duties at BMW. What other rumours will prove to be true?
It is going from bad to worse this year for the former Prost F1 driver and F3000 Champion (well he was stripped off the title after his cannabis incident). Only a week after crashing with Mika Salo in the ALMS race at Mid-Ohio (videos inside the article) and following sacking from the Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning team (after pressure from Ferrari allegedly) Tomas Enge crashed again. This time at 24 hour FIA GT race at Spa in the colors of Scuderia Ecosse. He totally wrecked his Ferrari 430 after 240 km/h smash into the barriers. Another team, another crash, another wrecked car…
Last week I made a post on Jacques Villeneuve. The mention of him and Le Mans reminded me of the 1971 movie with Steeve McQueen. It has been quite a few years since I watched that. So with no F1 or MotoGP race on calendar this weekend I’d picked up the DVD and did the re-run on my home cinema. This movie was made about 30 years before CGI turned every action flick into anime.
Jean Todt is very obviously very upset man. Two days after the FIA decided not to punish the guilty party, Todt went public with his view of the events on the Ferrari website. Thing are going to get dirty…

“I am bitter about it: what happened yesterday is serious. On the one hand a verdict of guilt was handed down and on the other, no sanctions were imposed. I cannot understand it. During yesterday’s meeting, the McLaren bosses, with no exceptions, admitted that their chief designer had obtained since back in March, prior to the Australian GP, documents from Nigel Stepney.
I had quite a lot of visitors landing on these pages searching for the Renault singing engines. So, just in case somebody is looking for the high revs concerts, here are 3 of them – La Marseillaise, God Save The Queen and We Are The Champions.
