Fastest driver in Q1 was Fernando Alonso. Karun Chandhok was finally able to take part in the qualifying. Inevitably he finished last but both HRT cars did rather well considering the circumstances. The fastest of the new team drivers was Timo Glock in Virgin, only 1.6 secs behind the slowest of the “old” teams drivers – Jaime Alguesuari (and remember that Bahrain lap is very long).

it was interesting to see that a lot of drivers were faster in Q2 then Q3.
the results in general very more or less like expected after have seen practice 3. maybe at mclaren I though thay would be a bit faster. anyway, it looks like ferrari has made a huge step forward comparing to last year.
I was also a little bit disappointed about the speed of sauber, they looked better in the tests. and what about schumacher? well, after the three year break he made a good depute imo. And then there’s still the race to come, and that’s normal the strong part of schumacher. but on the other hand Rosberg is a really good driver that has a lot more to show then just the name. Also if it seems that Mercedes GP is not at the same level like redbull or ferrari yet. But that was just the first qualifying.
It is also nice to see HRT in the grid, but they seem to be slower then GP2 cars ;-)

so all in all it was a nice qualifying. Now I wish to everyone a great formula 1 year with a lot of tension and great racing. ENJOY EVERYONE and thanks to F1Wolf for this great pretiction game!

The fastest lap in GP2 race yesterday was just below 2:10secs, so HRT cars are still significantly faster than the GP2 cars :-) . Actually I found their performances quite impressive considering the circumstances. Just compare them with Virgin for example and their first test when they barely managed to get any mileage at all with all the troubles they had …

One can of curse argue whether it is OK to use the GP qualifying session as a car shakedown.
