BMW Sauber unveiled today in Valencia their first post BMW era F1 car – the Ferrari-engined C29. The car features high nose, shark fin and almost all white livery with dark sidepods and no sponsor logos (yet). It is very much the old BMW style livery with black (or dark grey) replacing the blue.
Earlier today the team announced new sponsorship deal with Japanese hair shampoo brand Scalp-D. The Scalp-D logo will be visible on the rear wing endplate of the new Formula One race car as well as on the team’s trucks and garage equipment.

Rear diffuser: Behind schedule or breakthrough?
as with all the other teams probably keeping it hidden from spying eyes for as long as possible
I am shocked to see them still carrying the BMW badge with a Ferrari engine. Does anyone else think that’s strange?
I like the color and the look of the car.
yes, it is strange, but there are reasons behind it. I am preparing a brief post on that. but basically it is not that simple to change the name of the team … so BMW Sauber-Ferrari it is
Does this have something to do with saving their position on the grid? Mercedes jumped ship and is now sponsoring the Brawn cars. It can be done.
Mercedes bought Brawn, they own the team now. They received special permission from FIA and the other teams to rename the team to Mercedes GP while keeping all their commercial rights etc mainly due to long history of Mercedes in F1. The same does not automatically apply to BMW and Sauber situation
