As you may have already realized F1Wolf received a facelift. I have been thinking about change of the design for quite some time. The previous design was from summer of 2007. It was great at the time of its launch and several tweaks here and there managed to extend its life span to almost 2 years. Unfortunately it was becoming more and more difficult to ad new features to the site. I was also getting a bit tired of the look of the site. And so as the F1 holidays arrived I decided to go ahead with the redesign.
The new F1Wolf uses the ColorMatic Theme from Theme Wars. The reason why I chose this theme was simple – it is simple, clean and easy to navigate. I stayed with same colours as the previous theme – combination of red and grey. The dominant colour however is white.
The first obvious difference is the new Featured Post section at the top of the page. This section gives an easy access to last five posts that I find interesting enough to fall into the featured category.
The home page includes the latest 10 posts organized in 2 columns. I believe this layout makes the page much easier to navigate than the old one.

On the side bar you can subscribe to F1Wolf contents delivery by email, see the latest on the Prediction Game, follow my Twitter updates featuring my latest tweets (click here to follow me on Twitter), check the latest F1 championship standings or the season calendar. Further down on side bar you find my latest F1 photos on Flickr and the F1Wolf archives. The latest comments have been moved to the footer section of the site.
The menu bar at the header of the site provides quick links to some of the F1Wolf pages – Season Statistics (featuring standings, engine and gearbox statistics, team mates head-to-head qualifying statistics and more), Prediction Game, Contact, or Photos.
If you are reading this post in your RSS reader or in your email box please visit the site to check out the new look. If you are already here at F1Wolf.com I hope you enjoy the new cleaner look.
If you find anything not working properly or displayed in strange way, please drop me a message (click here) so I can have the problems fixed !

I really like it. Nice and clear to read, and I think it loads quicker than the old one as well. Good work
the site loads faster but the admin area slowed down
Nice redesign but I miss the flame-belching Ferrari!
the flaming Ferrari had to be taken down. unfortunately as I found out one agency owns rights to that image. they politely asked me to take the image down or negotiate fee for using it
I did imagine this was the reason, just bad luck that someone claimed for the copyrights… Because it was quite a little cut of the original picture. In these times you can expect every buisiness shark going to bite you… So farewell to the old layot!
This new one is powered with the latest design in blogging and quite polite, just I feel it somehow plain but have to get used to it, maybe the white background allows the appearance of some shadows? Anyway, the new look is great and attractive to the eyes, hopefully the community will help to it’s development within the time
But I feel the server response slower than before… Not sure it it has to do with Spain or with the not yet finished “makeover”. But the result is perfect!!
Well may be small part of the picture but if you check the agency site you can see it is among their featured images. But they do have some excellent photos !
Not sure why it works slower for you, seems most people (including me) find the site much faster now.
Love the new look, very clean and bold!
Not sure about the black on dark grey for the comments byline though — it’s quite difficult to read whose comment it is.
You might also want to put something in the HTML title tag — it’s currently blank.
Other than that, loving the new look! Great work.
Thought about that, white would give better contrast but then all the other text is white so I went with black, for now. The gravatars will hopefully do trick
I am not sure why there appears to be nothing in the title, it should not be blank …
I agree with others, the website may be quite faster now. Spain may be the factor, don’t worry
We still own that middle age connection speeds, pigeons can be sometimes faster…
The result is great!
Anyway, congratulations this all tales plenty of time and headaches
I like it. Much quicker to load and easier to read. Good work!
Love the new look, very clean, and nice CSS 3 touches
It looks more modern. I like it!
hey wolf, the new look is great!, the ferrari was cool but there are a lot more pictures you can use. perhaps a contest for suggestion on the f1 wolf pic….
or rotating pics every weeek …
hey wolf,
great new design, very clean and nicer on the eyes. loads faster too (1 reason why i didn’t visit your old design site very often..:)) color scheme is nice too, love the greys and reds plus the pics looks better too..
