[...] Los cascos que se utilizan hoy día tanto en coches como en motos, son cascos de fibra de carbono, polietileno y kevlar, pesa entre 1,25kg y 1,5kg, además de llevar una capa de un producto ignifugo. Estos cascos, literalmente, son capaces de soportar que les disparen una bala. En teoría una piedra lanzada a 300km/h sólo arañaría la superficie (ejem… tambíen habría que ver el tamaño y peso de la piedra y teniendo en cuenta que si el casco está quieto o en movimiento). Os podéis imaginar la velocidad que debía llevar ese amortiguador, para que rompiera el casco hasta llegar a fracturarle el cráneo. Interesting little video, old school as it has the Ralf Schumacher helmet being used but still cool stuff.
I remember watching this a while ago and thinking how cool it all is, especially the HANS and the way dampers work in a F1 car as opposed to other racing categories and some road cars all cool stuff!
yes, it is an older video. the publisher brought it out again after the Massa accident.
