Colchicine Side Effect

However with the weather the way it is this weekend at Nurburgring the fuel loads may not be the only factor determining the pit stops tomorrow... Rain is predicted for the race, Colchicine Side Effect.

  1. [...] first one in his F1 career. Rubens Barrichello in on P2, Jenson Button P3, Sebastian Vettel P4. The post qualifying weights (see here) will be published later on today. It would be interesting to know who gambled on wet race set up [...]

the brawns are lighter by about 20 kilos each when compared to the redbulls!!
i think that the redbulls are the fastest f1 cars by a mile now, and ross brawn realizes that he cannot match the developing pace of redbull.

with a huge points cushion now, i think brawn is covering up its pace deficiency with light fuel and some tricky race strategies just to “limp” over to the championship.

Red Bulls have definitelly made big step forward but it is also no secret that Brawns do have problem with cold weather. And it was only 12 degrees during qualifying.

Also, Red Bulls were quicker than Brawns few races back already but kept throwing the races away with bad startegy calls or loosing them stuck in the traffic while Button was running away with the race.

Great to see Mark Webber get his first pole. Well fuelled, I think he has it nailed. Anybody got a predictive first fuel stop worked out yet?

    • F1WolfNo Gravatar says:

I added the weight of fuel in the brackets. Without knowing the exact fuel consumption per lap it is hard to predict when will each driver stop. But if we estimate about 2.5 – 2.6 kg of fuel per lap then Button will be stopping on about lap 14-15, Barrichello a lap later and Mark Webber on about lap 22.

Things may be however very different if the weather starts messing with race :-)

Who has got the good weather forecasts? The best I’ve found say there will be drizzle at 11am Nurburgring and cloudy thereafter.

Regardless. It’ll be a cold track, with the Brawn tire temperature difficulty, it looks like Red Bull this weekend.

Nurburgring is one of the places that has its own weather. Yesterday was to be sunny and it was not long before qualifying. Then the rain came :-) Two years ago nobody (excpet Winkelhock in Spyker) expected such a heavy rain a minute or so after start. I think the best is to wait and see what happens :-)

Well done Marky! A new name for the Record books :)

The day has come when Brawn GP played to fool everybody in the first steps of the weekend and failed to do it. It’s not a matter of finding the coolest track of the season, it’s just not the proper way to setup a car and failed to prepare it to the bad weather, and not all places are just the same, you can’t play with your performance margins.
Barrichello this time was the most smart of all them, a big surprise for everyone when he was just standing in front of the box and wanting to mount slicks in Q2 and risk everything for his lap, but none of their strategs played well his role. We’re not used to these failures by the championship leaders, but they seem too…
