2009 British GP – My Friday at Silverstone

Mumm Paddock Club

It was fun day today. Nice weather although rather cold and windy. The warm jacket definitely came handy. I planned to watch the practice sessions from my seat at the grandstands but at the end I made the most of the Paddock Club pass. Pitlane walkabout, Mumm champagne, F1 simulator, good picture taking spot and some nice food – it was hard to walk away from that :-) .

Thanks to being at the club I also had the chance to watch live (on TV) the press conference with Martin Whitmarsh, Ross Brawn, Christian Horner and Adam Parr. You can read some of the FOTA talk here and Williams talk here. And here is the complete transcript of the press conference.

And yes, there was also some on track action and yes, Nelson Piquet did spin off again :-) . Friday times usually do not mean much but Red Bulls do look strong this weekend.

I will be back at the circuit tomorrow – you can follow my updates on Twitter (here) ! I may upload some more photos from today later on. Now it is time for some dinner and drinks.

Oh, nooooo! F1W is twittering. Next thing you know he’ll be covering the elections in Iran.

Hey F1W, can you explain to us heathens the difference between a tweet and a re-tweet. Or is it a twit?

What happened to Kotenok? Does that guy still post here? Who do people think is going to get pole at Silverstone? Vettel or Button?

I’m watching Friday practice now with 20 minutes left but I don’t have a clue. I need some inside analysis.

I’m ready to throw in my lot with Webber.

tweet is when you tweet, re-tweet is when you like what someone else tweets and so you retweet that tweet :-)

it may not be wise to rely on my analysis but the bulls look strong and brawns not so much. but brawns never look too strong on Friday :-)

My God, it really is like Invasion of the Body Snatchers. He’s been tweeted. I’m not sure how many twits we have left to save him. he knows what a retweet is, so I think he might be hopeless.

Thankfully he will die a Formula One Icon. Rest in peace, Brother. Can you hear me? or are you still glued to your iPhone?
