Thanks for the video, but I’m actually a bit disappointed. I’d hoped they would have let on more than they did.

there are 2 more videos now. they say a bit more but not much that we haven’t read already. the difference is this time we can see those words coming from the guys behind this new team

Well, I’ve seen the 3 videos provided by Speed TV, those men have the head on their shoulders, but they didn’t announce much things, they just say that America has it all for being ready for 2010 F1 season..

Engines? Drivers? Partners? Sponsors? They mean the actual economical situation in the world and the decreasing budgets of the F1 teams is the switch that helped them to start USF1, but the idea is gestating since 2006. Not much detailed information, except Mario Andretti’s call in fact, selling the idea of his son Marco driving for USF1 would be great, an open message to car manufacturers to provide them an engine (I’ve heard Nissan, and I particularly believe it’s a serious candidate to build a V9 for them, but that’s my own suggestion). Nobody in there talked about a European base, such as Epsilon Euskadi has been already attached to them, but it’s clear that it will be needed. And not much more, they try to sell the idea of being as simple as they can be for bring the US people into F1 and reach their interest by being more open than the rest of the teams, so they mean not much secrets hidden from the whole world (awesome, let’s see it is like that).

I think they will announce more as the year goes by, they obviously have no obligation to tell us anything until it is confirmed, and i agree this is probably best for them to keep it close to heart so that it builds up the talk about the team.
Todays announcement seemed more like a re-iteration of what had already leaked and a few confirmations of points that had been rumoured or already pointed out by these men themselves in the past month.
Again, it’s good for the sport no matter what is going on as it will bring the American market back into play in the world of F1, as much as the US may have their own little world and sometimes arrogant, F1 does need that exposure to really build back up and get themselves a continued future, and of course a growing audience of followers!

I thought it was interesting that they said they raised the required capital by selling only a small peice of the team. I wonder how much they are counting on investors versus their budget from advertising and potentially selling a driver’s seat.

I can not see anyone signing up for anything significant regarding sponsorship until a lot more details are released. They still have a long way to go.

They do sound confident and I have no doubts about their competence. But … On hand they are saying the have all the required capital, on the other hand they haven’t mentioned a single commercial partner. They talk about being open, but yet at the momeny they are very secretive. They talk a lot saying very little :-)

I must say that after watching the videos again I share the disapointment expressed by TSJ and Kotenok in comments above. They prepared this big TV press conference, they placed a countdown on their website (countdown that could not handle different time zones :-) ) but at the end we haven’t heard anything new. There was not a single piece of new information …

And if I am not wrong, they also did not make any commitment to being on the grid in 2010. Even the questions for them had that “hopefuly” attached to “in 2010″ phrase.
