Sitting at the airport having nothing to do has some advantages. Here is link I received by email short while ago from Red Bull – animated video explaining the evolution from 2008 RB4 to 2009 RB5. Commentary by Sebastian Vettel. And of course there are some sneak previews of 2009 Red Bull car designed by Adrian Newey.
The waiting is over, the 2009 F1 seat is secure for Bourdais
Toro Rosso took their time but at the end they made the decision that many would consider being the right one. They chose Sebastien Bourdais over Takuma Sato for 2009 season. This decision also ends speculations about Jenson Button or Rubens Barrichello possibly joining the Faenza team following collapse of Honda F1 project. This is what Le Seb had to say:
We are ten days closer to the start of 2009 Australian GP. Not much has happened in past ten days. Despite unofficial end January deadline there are still no news on future of the team formerly known as Honda.
Max Mosley believes there can be 12 teams on the grid in 2010
We were supposed to see 12 teams on the grid in 2008. But Prodrive never made it (because of the customer car rules), Super Aguri dropped out after only four races and barely a month after 2008 season ended Honda bowed out. F1 is facing 9 teams grid in 2009, Toro Rosso is for sale and there are doubts about long term commitment of some of the remaining manufacturers. Max Mosley however believes we will see the grid increased in 2010:
After few weeks break here is another part of the F1 Liveries History post. This time year 1995 when 13 teams entered (although Simtek did not last for too long) and 37 different drivers started races. Forti was the new team on the grid, Jordan was yet to get the Benson&Hedges on board, and there was also MTV car .
F1 fans have a rare chance to bid for Formula One paddock passes with team hospitality for two at each of the nine European Grands Prix.
For nine weeks from 9 February 2009 the Tom Pryce Memorial Trust will be auctioning one pair of passes for a Grand Prix each week, with all the money raised contributing towards a memorial to Tom Pryce in his home town of Ruthin, North Wales.
