My entry to Singapore GP photo contest

singapore-gp-kimi-raikkonen-and-nick-heidfeld-small

Visit Singapore has a contest with some very decent prizes. I am not expecting my pictures to win anything but game is game so I decided to submit the above photo that reminds me of 2008 Singapore GP action – I was focusing on Kimi Raikkonen getting out of the pitlane but Nick Heidfeld on his quick lap somehow squeezed into the picture too.

Few lucky winners can win a pair of tickets to the Formula One Paddock Club™ for the 2009 FORMULA 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix, a pair of three-day tickets to the Pit Grandstand for the 2009 FORMULA 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix or a pair of three-day tickets to the Padang Grandstand for the 2009 FORMULA 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix.

What a turnaround this is. Originally all the lenses with focal length larger the 200mm were banned from grandstands. This restriction was only lifted few weeks before 2008 Singapore GP. And now there is a contest for best fan photos ! Great !

You can see more photos I took in Singapore in the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix gallery.

That would be a great luck if the photo wins!! Among the whole people there, maybe the vips with closest views to the race could win somebody… But if there’s a game, why not??? ;) Hopefully you can get a prize and share it with me!! HAHHAA Just joking :) It’s time to take your little boy to some race ;) Or is he too little for understand the sport?

Good luck!I quite like the photo–gives the impression that you used two different shutter speeds for the two cars at the same time!

frankly I tell you till now I do not know how I managed to take any photos at that race. the electronics on my lense simply left after first few minutes of Friday practice. I had to switch to manual mode and I had no idea what I am doing :-)

Ahh, that happened to me once during a wedding photo session… That’s a pure shit when you can’t manage that the lenses focus :( Especially on such a fast object to reach at the darkness.
The most recommended is to turn the exposition up, that burn the pictures a little but helps on focusing faster and better with manual focus, later the comp does miracles to give it a better aspect.
