Charlie Whiting recently did an interview which is on another site.
Talks about the car changes, restrictions for 2009 and also outlines engine use and the new safety car rules. Was good for some information that i hadn’t heard about yet or missed in the news in the past months.
The eight engines for the season also apply to Friday practice
The pitting issue under safety car has been reviewed with a novel idea that tracks cars positioning via the ECU and causes the car to only go so fast, kinda like a pit lane limiter.
Also talked of the aim of the reduce in aerodynamic grip was a 50% reduction or close too and how the mechanical grip increase (via slick tyres) would hopefully be around 8%.
Also pointed out that the gap between the two tyre choices would be bigger this year, and Charlie hoped it would be about a half a second difference instead of the 1 tenth of a second crap we had last year which totally negated the point of having two compounds!

I’d have to say this is the most turbulent off season ever. Almost every day there is some troubling news to digest and figure out solutions for.
