I wonder whether anyone can be competitve with this engine? Cosworth has been out of F1 for years. Does anyone know what they have done to develop this engine?
it depends on what engines will be used from 2010. if they go on using current 2.4 litre V8s than Cosworth still has the engine they supplied to WIlliams in 2006. Since then the development was frozen. And although all the other engine maker still managed to tweak it here and there exploring the regulation loopholes I do not think it would be such a big problem for Cosworth to get their V8 up to the standard
there is however that idea presented by FOTA to move from current engines to smaller 1.8 litre turbocharged ones from 2010. if that idea is accepted than all the engine makers would have to come up with new powerplants
