The voting for the 2008 Driver of the Year has ended. There were total 1093 votes in the poll and 24 more votes below the award post with top 3 drivers. The bonus points for top three made the margins at the top a bit bigger but at the end they haven’t affected the final order at all. There were 20 drivers included in the poll and every driver received some points. Here are the results:

I think that Kimi Raikkonen deserves a better place!!!
well, I think that 6th is still too good for him for his 2008 performances
but this is not my ranking, this is result of over 1000 reader’s votes. to see how I ranked the drivers after 2008 season you can check these posts:

Kimi must did it better than he did this year!
I’m a fan of FA’s driving skills and solid character. Maybe he isn’t the fastest driver in the world, but He knows what to do for winning.
What position will get Vettel in next year’s poll? Bets are open!
The results are pretty good. I like Alonso as #1 and Barrichello at #7, but I am a bit surprised at Sebastian Vettel voted only 5th and the difference between Hamilton and Massa is greater than I would have thought.
Well, I was eventually happy with the results. If that’s what people thinks
But Kazuki being over Nico??? Somebody decided to joke us
Piquet above Glock? Fisi and Sutil above Kovalainen, Trulli and Heidfeld?
Agree with Alonso being in the top spot though and the only amendment I would make is Webber with Rubens.
To get more realistic ranking on the e lower positiions I would have to askk everybody to give all the drivers rank 1-20. I gave 2 options – to simply click on the poll or to make their own 1-2-3 order. over 1000 people voted inn the poll, only 20 something made the 1-2-3 rank. hard to expect too many people to take their time and rank all 20 drivers
so the ranks on the lower position reflect how many people actually how many people voted these drivers as the best. I am surprised some drivers received any votes at all
So, anything below 5th place I would not take too seriously
Yup, the game was funny even. Few days ago the results were completely different and since Friday I got surprised of the difference which did the most voted drivers.
I’m just amazed that somebody voted Kazuki, humm… 3 times!!! It was supposet to vote the best one, the best F1 driver in the World to criteria of fans, and not the best Japanese in F1 (of course, there is only one, so its not a big difference if he won that
). To complete the data source, we should see from where are these votes coming from, leave that for next year
It would be interesting if that ones which voted Kazuki, are for example… German??? HEHE
I do not know what happened but all of a sudden all your comments are sent to moderation … something got messy after the upgrade to latest version of Wordpress
Well, I got fue, maybe they treat me as a virus??? HAHAHA
Do not worry much, it will change if they notice their error, anyway, you take care about that comments which you want and which you do not want. So it will finish in the blog soon or later
disclaimer: DC fan, will root for Vettal and Kubica next season.
I’m sorry but I’m scratching my head over the large point difference between Massa and Lewis. If the rains holds off for even 30 seconds more we have a different WC. Massa had more wins, and more spins at GB, and in the final race of the year grabbed pole and won the race. Lewis on the other hand had some great drives in the rain but let Vettal in the STR pass him which might have cost him the title. And who can forget that Lewis will always be remembered as the WC who hit a parked car.
As you can probably tell I was unimpressed with either Lewis or Massa. Personally I would have loved to see Kubica snatch the title while the other two drove each other off the road.
