2008 Turkish GP - Qualifying - Massa on pole
Felipe Massa will start the Turkish GP from pole position, as predicted by many people on this site
. His neighbour on front row will be Heikki Kovalainen. Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen will line up on second row. There are suggestions that Kimi might have been slowed down by Alonso… I haven’t seen that, will have to wait for more on that. Both Red Bulls made it to Q3 for the first time this season.
This was another disapointing day for Nelson Piquet … Getting out after Q1 is not what Flavio Briatore signed him for …

Hamilton did quite well considering the grip he got from the harder compound..the first corner will be very crucial tomorrow..mclaren vs massa and hamilton vs heiki..

Hamilton definitely did well yesterday (and I seldom praise him). The car looked bad, shaking, no grip, and than I see he is barely 2 hundreds behing Massa. Massa and Kovalainen later improved, but Hamilton’s lap was good.
He is better of flyng on the track than on the stage of antic play

McLaren-Mercedes may have the same troubles than last year with the drivers now, Heikki in front of Hamilton isn´t what they expected. Usually Hamilton turns mad when a team mate starts in front. He looked too bad to balance his car, when Heikki had a perfect set-up (hope nobody decided to copy the setup to the first chassis, or something inside McLaren will smell again).
Anyway to save the shakes of the car in turn 8 is a miracle, when he had lots of slide on the rear end he situated the car in the race line, that was awsome!!! Maybe he’s nervous about the situation. His decission to drive on the hard compound isn’t sure the ideal, so he could go for a long stint with them and really full with fuel. It could be just a strategy matter that in Quialify session wasn’t looking as mathematical he is, but balance lack on his set-up is clear to see.
It’s a great news that Heikki Kovalainen can get up to the front row just after the biggest accident this season. Hope he has the quality to take the best from the MP4-23 as we have seen this weekend.
Let’s see the race now!!!
