i want to know what was wrong with kimi an or his car. it was the worst race i have ever seen him in. but a good recovery when he crashed

    • F1WolfNo Gravatar says:

it was probably one of the races he will want to forget quickly … he would have probably crashed out of the race without Sutil’s rear slowing him down … bad news for Sutil, bad for Raikkonen too. Both lost points, Raikkonen also championship lead

But can’t wait for some explanation from Kimi what happened over there…

and here it comes, words from Kimi:

“A very poor race for me, right from the off. There was a problem with a wheel before the start and we broke the rules, which meant I was given a drive-through penalty. During the race, my main problem was trying to get the tyres to work as well as possible. Then we decided to change the strategy as we expected it to rain again, but it didn’t happen. Twice I had to change the nose after breaking the front wing. So, as you can see, a long run of things going wrong which explains the 0 points. I am sorry for Sutil, who I hit with just a few laps to go. I lost control of the car under braking coming out of the tunnel and I could do nothing to avoid him. It’s a shame how things went today, as we had the potential to do well. It’s true that I’ve lost the championship lead, but I always said the championship would be a very long one. Now we must prepare as well as possible for Canada where we will try to make up for this disappointment.”

What an unfortunate end to Sutil’s race. He was so disappointed I felt sorry for him. But I don’t think we can blame Kimi for that, he got no room to avoid the collision. It’s interesting to see how the marshal will react to Force India’s complaint.

Hats off to Kubica, a well-deserved 2nd in a clean performance. But Heidfield’s bad luck is stretching further, thanks to Alonso. Well, at least this time around the Monaco GP leaderboard was changing throughout the race :)

one thing i will say about kimi, he has better car control than DC. it was a carbon copy slide, but kimi did a good job to keep it out of the barriers. if only he’d kept it out of sutil too.

It was an exciting race. Gotta give thumbs up to Hamilton for that one and a big thumbs down to Raikkonen. Sutil almost had a superb result in the bag.

Hey, what about Kubica. Could have won the race if Hamilton didn’t make that early mistake. Strange isn’t it.

or if perhaps the Trulli train did not slow the field behind top 4 so much and kept Hamilton within the reach of the leaders :-)

Well, **** Hamilton, Ferrari & Kimi spoiled the race for Sutil and all of us Force India Indian fans, FIA should ban Ferrari & Kimi

well, there is no doubt Raikkonen destroyed Sutil’s race but the calls for a ban are probably bit of an over reaction. It was not deliberate attempt to take Sutil out of race and it did not even look like Raikkonen was attempting to overtake Sutil at that moment. Something happened there, he lost control of the car and unfortunately took Sutil out of race. Raikkonen was not the only driver who lost it yesterday … Coulthard, Alonso, Rosberg, Massa, Button, Bourdais, Glock even Hamilton all had their moments.

Also it have to be remembered that Sutil overtook under yellow flags and FIA treated him rather leniently. I am not sure whether they would stay with reprimand only should Sutil finish the race …
