Ecclestone and Australia Part Two
I am not sure if the latest Ecclestone had to say on future of F1 racing in Australia is just another chapter in his game of negotiation or this guy is getting completely mad.
“The only way the race could stay in Melbourne, or anywhere else in Australia, is if it is staged during the night so that the public in Europe can watch it. At the moment, it is ridiculous that people are asked not to sleep in order to see it live. That can’t carry on. The alternative is to pull the race completely from Australia. I’ve spoken to (new prime minister) Kevin Rudd and he’s told me it would cost too much to re-stage the race, so I guess that’s it. We won’t be going to Australia for too much longer.”
So it is ridiculius that people in Europe have to wake up early … And he only knows that now ? The Australian GP has been on calendar since 1985 !!!

What a joke, The a1 gp went really well in Taupo and somehow I don’t really think “the european people” will mind getting up early for a couple of races in the southern hemiphere. I really am starting to think that Ernie has his head up his own “Southern Hemiphere”. This guy is losing the plot. What about other races?? What next, does Monaco has to be late afternoon so it won’t interupt his nap, He won’t do USA until he meets the Prez?? This guy thinks he’s god, for god’s sake ernie get with it!!!

Its all about the $$$$.
Has anyone else heard the rumors about a return to Indy in 2009. I have been told that Bernie and Tony George have held discussions and that title sponsors are being sought.
I say “too good to be true”.
Anyone???

I read some rumours, but don’t remember where. Indy allegedly hired some agency to secure the title sponsor. it would be great if F1 returns to Indy, but if they do, I hope they keep the banked corner and do not use the MotoGP configuration

I really think he’s past it. Lets get someone new up top to make good decisions cos this guy I personally believe is starting to loose it!! Everytime he doesn’t like a course or a country he threatens to pull the track.
