The Renault Hearing Transcript

It took FIA some time but the transcript from the Renault hearing is now available. You can download the whole 77 pages from the FIA site or if you are lazy to look for it, just get it from here:

Renault Hearing Transcript

As in McLaren’s case there are some blackened censored areas, but this time the copy/paste technique does not help in decrypting them :-)

How does Renault escape penalty, while McLaren loses the Constructor Championship? From the little I know about this, it sounds like Renault did far worse than McLaren.

well McLaren escaped the same way at the first hearing, then the “new facts” and few emails between de la Rosa and Alonso surfaced …

and … somewhere in the transcripts is a McLaren lawyer quited saying that McLaren does not wish any other team to suffer such a punishment as McLaren were hit with …

and … it is Max Mosley the judge :-)

From what I understand (and that’s not a lot), it sounds like Renault did far worse that McLaren. The whole thing stinks of F1 politics!

F1 is trying so hard to cater to fans and raise revenues, they are in danger of becoming the next boxing or big time wrestling.

They had better watch out for NASCAR. They are trying hard to attract foriegn drivers, and I believe their next step is to race outside the US.
