Super Aguri Rumours And Super Aguri 2007 Screensaver

After some period of silence few Super Aguri rumours surfaced last week.
Anthony Davidson

First there was a suggestion in Swiss paper Blick that Luca Filippi is in the running for the second race seat in the Japanese outfit. The reason behind such move is reportedly 10 million Euros in sponsorship money Filippi would be bringing with him. This is probably not what Anthony Davidson wants to hear.

Luca Filippi, Super Nova

Luca Filippi finished 4th overall in 2007 GP2 season, racing for Super Nova.

Then F1-Live website brought information, that Honda might decide to pull the plug on their B-team after paying around half of Super Aguri bills during 2007 season. It looks however that the immediate future of Super Aguri is safe. It is reported by Auto Moto und Sport Honda officials have decided to keep the satellite Formula One team Super Aguri up and racing in 2008. It remains to be seen if Honda will simply pay the bills in return for some extra testing mileage or start looking for ways to eventually get rid of the burden. Pay driver is one option (Luca Filippi seems to be ready :-) ), sale of the team to investors is another…

Interesting..So what is your take on the team? What do you think is the best solution for the team?

I really hate it when the bottom teams keep changing hands every season. They had a decent run last season for a rookie, and Sato can still pull it next season i think..

BTW, I get more updates here than any other F1 websites..Thank you!

Perhaps it is necessary for teams to change hands few times in order to find the right ones … For example the Jordan/Midland/Spyker finally seems to have in Vijay Mallya an owner who is going to take the somewhere. And … if they change hands that means there still is some interest in them… Prost and Arrows were not that lucky in the recent past…

Super Aguri – Oh I do hope they keep on going, they are my favourite team and Sato is my favourite driver :-)
But they will need to get away from being financed by Honda. The latest arrangement looks like being temporary anyway, until SA finds some cash. Pay driver (sorry Anthony Davidson) may be the first step. Investor or outright buyer next. They need money to build their own car or they will be out of F1 anyway …
