How much more ridiculous the things can get? According to SpeedTV sources close to the Super Aguri team say that Honda effectively sabotaged its customer outfit’s chances at Spa.
Super Aguri were not allowed to use a wing design that it had used at the Spa test in July and found to be very competitive. Instead come the race weekend Honda provided Aguri only with less effective options, including a Barcelona-spec wing.
Indeed Anthony Davidson was so frustrated by the performance of his car in qualifying spec that he opted to drop out of parc ferme and start from the pit lane with a different wing fitted.
Ironically, in the race Takuma Sato still managed to fight his way past Jenson Button by going around the outside at the corner at the end of the straight, much to the embarrassment of the works team.
This would not be the best PR ahead of Japanese GP…I hope both Honda and Super Aguri deny this news as a piece of rubbish …

Aguri Suzuki has always insisted that his team is in no financial danger for 2007 season, even after the payments from their main partner, SS United stopped coming.

However he made no secret of the fact, he is on lookout for some partners. Several names have been mentioned (Alejandro Agag, Tony Teixiera). But it seems that the cash injection has arrived from Japan. Austrian paper Salzburger Nachrichten reports that a powerful Japanese businessman has plugged the budget hole, therefore securing the future of Leafield based Super Aguri. The new investor is set to be announced officially at Suzuki’s home race at Fuji in two weeks.
This is what Aguri Suzuki reportedly had to say:

The trip down the F1 history continues with a look at the 2005 cars. This was the last time we could see the yellow color of former race winning Jordans, black and white perrenial backmarkers Minardi as well as Saubers (turned into BMW Saubers in 2006)… Several tobacco backed teams used alternative tobacco free liveries for races in countries where tobacco ads had been banned. McLaren went tobacco free half way through the season. Jordans and Minardis kept changing their looks with new sponsors coming and going. Red Bull went mad in Monaco… Toyota seems to be very happy with their boring livery, they haven’t changed it much since they entered F1…

The former rally driving world champion Colin McRae was killed in a helicopter crash Saturday afternoon…
“Colin was a remarkable man who wore his heart on this sleeve and was the epitome of a racer; fearless and attacking, yet he remained true to his roots and grounded despite the international fame and recognition that he achieved. The world is a sorrier place without him.” - David Coulthard

This much is obvious, McLaren is out 2007 Constructors Championship and $100mil lighter. What else does it mean?

a)They will not be classified in constructors championship, so they should get the pit garage at the looser’s end of pitlane next year.
b)They still though should be able to keep car numbers 1-2, if the driver’s champ comes from the team, and the champ stays with the team next year. But if the champion comes from Ferrari, or a McLaren champion leaves the team, their car numbers will have 2 digits and will start with ‘2’…

After few weeks of Prodrive radio silence, some new information emerged last weekend in Spa. As Autosport reports, the deal is on hold, until the new Concorde Agreement is finalized.
From what David Richards says, it seems that all is in place:
“We are there, but there are lots of issues surrounding the validity of the Concorde Agreement, it is those sort of things that leave question marks at the moment, and they need to be resolved. Every other aspect of it is cleared up.”
It is widely expected that Prodrive will run McLaren chassis next year. This deal will come handy for McLaren, they sure would not mind extra cash to fill at least a bit of the $100,000,000 big hole. But….

The 2007 Belgian GP hardly can be called a classic race, but it was sure one of the better ones this season, with quite a bit of an on track action. Most of it was down the grid though …
Ferraris were class of the field this weekend, clearly better than McLarens. This was quite a turnaround after Monza, but that’s what we got used to this year. Both teams are very close and the pendulum swings from track to track…
We had no serious carnage at the start this time, however the stunt Alonso pulled on Hamilton could have caused one. Whether the move was deliberate I am not able to tell, but it sort of looked like it. This was something I would understand if the car next Alonso was all red, but doing this to a team mate is quite unexpected. It looks like Ron Dennis prefers this season to end as peacefully as possible. He told ITV:
“It was absolutely fine. They weren’t too aggressive and they’re racing drivers. No-one would blink if it was opposing teams.”
Exactly, no one would blink if it WAS opposing teams … Hamilton’s opinion was quite a bit different.
Back to race – It became clear early on, that only some disaster could prevent Ferraris from 1-2 finish. Nothing happened, and so Kimi has 3rd Spa win in a row under his belt. Massa finished 2nd, and with 3 races to and 20 points gap to the leader, he should probably settle for Kimi support role for the rest of the season. Kimi though, cut Hamilton’s lead to 13 points only and is still pretty much in the fight. I am not sure if the doughnut he did at the end of the race was planned, or was it just an innocent by-product of the quick U turn on the way to pits. In any case, quite a refreshment

This is what obviously unhappy Hamilton had to say to Autosport after the race, but even more interesting would be to know what he “won’t say any more”:
1) On Alonso move after the race start:
“I wouldn’t say fair, but it was hard, the guy on the outside doesn’t always have the corner. I don’t know whether I was ahead, but there was enough room for us all to get round fair and square.I just feel for someone that’s always complaining about people doing unfair maneuvres, and everyone wanting to be fair and someone I look up to, and he has gone and swiped me and pushed me as wide as he could. I was just really lucky there was a run-off area so I could take that.
