Blag flags for Massa and Fisichella, massive crash of Kubica that luckyly resulted only in broken leg.

Certainly an action-filled race, leaving many questions, not least about the new safety car regulations.
When was the last grand prix that had two drivers black-flagged?
When was the last race that only had one national anthem played?
How did Kubica survive the accident with, reportedly, only a broken leg?

the new safety car regulations are good in my opinion, at least by intention. however there are many grey areas apparently and Rosberg ALonso Massa and Fisi felt victims to them … yes, there is a Montoya precedens for blag flagging car leaving pits on red light, but if the pit lane is OPEN and cars come in, why there is red light on the exit ? I would quite believe Massa’s claim that he did not even look at the lights. At the end all 4 safety car offences were pretty much similar – entering or leaving pit lane when not allowed, they should all have the same penalty, either all 10 secs stop and go, or all blag flag

  3. steverobbo says:

I suppose the justification for the inconsistancy in pit lane punishments will be the drivers with the stop and go penalties had to pit at the time or would have run out of fuel.
Not expecting to see a red light, and therefore going through one is no real excuse as Kubica stopped until the light turned green.

of course, once the red light is there it has to observed, I am just wondering why it was there when the pit lane was officially open.
