Hard to believe that McLaren would go so much backwards in their performance for Hamilton to be all of a sudden almost 2 seconds slower than Kovalainen’s Renault. Looks like McLaren was playing around with different fuel loads and tyres. However it looks like Toyotas are slowly finding their way, however, still slower than Williams
. Super Aguri’s pace is no longer a surprise.

Too much water to take this test seriously, but some practice in wet in Malaysia may come handy. Heavy rain is never too far down there.

3. R.Schumacher – Toyota – 1:36.700
4. Liuzzi – Toro Rosso -Ferrari – 1:36.712
5. Massa – Ferrari – 1:36.947
6. Rosberg – Williams-Toyota – 1:37.070
7. Button – Honda – 1:37.472
8. Davidson – Super Aguri-Honda – 1:37.606
9. Heidfeld – BMW Sauber – 1:38.551

Besides rain the other excitement was Nick Heidfeld setting his car on fire after oil leak.
Bad weather and no chance to post fast laps made the teams to agree on extra day of testing on Friday.

As they write over at F1gpupdate.net, the Singapore race looks like done deal and “According to local newspapers in Singapore the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix will be announced this Friday by the organisers of the race.” Unfortunately I did not find any news on any online Singapore news sites… So, let’s see what happens or does not happen on Friday.

While reading around I found 2 interesting posts:
1) Interview with Murray Walker:
The sport is looking towards radical change in the future to introduce environmentally-friendly technologies. Is this the right direction for F1?
“I get so sick of people talking about the bloody environment. I tend to go against the common belief about the environment. Everyone is saying that mankind is responsible for the deterioration in the environment. But my attitude is, we’ve had ice ages, heat ages and all that sort of thing and I’m not totally convinced that the world is going to die if we don’t ‘do something’ about it.

Raikkonen on top. Williams showing good speed and relaibility (2nd fastest time and 114 laps completed). BMW probably focusing on reliability today with 111 laps for Kubica. No surprises today with Honda powered cars – Sato faster than Button and Barrichello

Kubica fastest, Raikkonnen second. Wurz in Williams not doing bad too. But the most notable achievement of the day is Honda being quicker than Super Aguri !!!

Have to start with another one from Mr. Joker. Ralf is probably living on a different planet. First claiming he is one of the top 3 drivers, now being so confident that Toyota will win this year. Of course, everything is possible. Honda won last year, Fisi won in Jordan few years back. But based on what he has so much confidence in all the lucky circumstances working for them? And why then he still asks fans to remain patient?

Australian Red Bull driver Mark Webber will take to the streets of Singapore this weekend for a trial run of the city-state’s proposed Formula One race, the Straits Times reported on Tuesday. Singapore is in talks with Formula One over the hosting of a street circuit grand prix, which may be held at night, under floodlights — a first for the sport. The report said Webber would drive a Porsche 911 GT3 for Saturday’s test run “within the legal speed limit”. “We didn’t have enough time to get the clearance for a high-speed run,” Jyn Wee, Red Bull’s brand manager in Singapore, was quoted as saying. The GT3 has a top speed in excess of 300 kph and can go from 0-100 kph in less than five seconds.

Eddie Jordan says “Let Kimi Get Hammered !”
“It’s a well-known fact the Finns love a bevy and can consume heroic quantities of alcohol, and Kimi is just following a national tradition,” Jordan said.
“The Irish get lashed on pints of Guinness but the Finns do it with enormous amounts of vodka.
“He’s been caught absolutely bladdered on several occasions but it’s to be expected. He’s 27, my kids are a similar age, and I know what a good night out means to them. And why the hell not?”
Yea, and why the hell not …
