Last Week in F1 (February 26, 2007)

Renault left the GPMA means basically nothing but it happened.

Rumours circulated that McLaren shareholders Dennis and Ojjeh want to sell rest of their shares. Dennis or both of them may be planning to buy Prodrive F1 operation from David Richards and get the chassis and engines supplied from Benz.

However there are also rumours David Richards plans to buy Aston Martin from Ford and bring the brand to F1 when his Prodrive enters next year.

Finishing this off – Porsche does not plan to enter F1, they are happy as they are.

We had testing going on in Valencia and Bahrain.

Valencia – Williams usually faster than Spyker except for Narain Karthikeyan’s rides. Spyker ran their new car F8-VII for the first time. All the other teams tested in Bahrain.

Bahrain – Everyday brought different story, but generally can say Ferrari and McLaren continue to show they plan to have a good season. BMW’s fast pace is no longer a surprise. Honda made step forward and finally found some speed. Toyota is bad bad bad at the moment. Super Aguri doing quite well but only in their interim car.

Back to Aguri – New car development is not going as they expected. Their SA07 is delayed and may not be ready before Friday practice in Melbourne.

Toro Rosso ran their STR2 for the first time and finally confirmed Scott Speed as their second driver for 2007.

And Honda involved their own website in spreading around rumours with pictures of their new livery.

It's very calm over here, why not leave a comment?
